Blog Post No. 8- Itching
I finally cleaned my room after this horrible flare. Whenever I have the energy to wash my sheets I crawl in that night and think Hmmm this feels so good why don't I do this more often! Like, okay girl don't get ahead of yourself. Think about the state of your body three days ago. Alas, I am an old dog and new tricks, and repeating lessons, are hard to keep on my hard drive.
I've started reading Permafrost by Eva Baltazar, the first of a trilogy she named Triptych which is just stunning, of course. Reminds me of one of my favorite Samia songs. I just love translated novels so much; I eat them up. And from all over, in all sorts of languages. Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Catalan in this case. Permafrost is good so far. It has that sort of hardened, cynical, self-sabotaging narrator I can appreciate at least for a book length. Everyone in this Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin is another title that got that down pretty good. We'll see how it goes! I'm having a little decision paralysis as I often do when I realize just how many books I have available to me at any given time.
I've been needing to slather my hands in lotion several times a day lately, it's bothersome. My skin at large is just hating life, I made a joke on Facetime with my best friend earlier that they need to make a lipliner the same shade as my hives. I keep trying to narrow it down, but the last possible aggressor is one I can't bear to accept: cats. I wasn't sure until Christmas when I visited my parents and had a whole crop of hives come up on my face directly after smooching on their cat, Dwight. Granted, I didn't get the same hives from their other cat but as most allergen concerned feline owners know different cats have different "spice levels" and Dwight just happened to have a dander that really disagrees with me. I don't know why I'm talking about this, I think I'm just really tired of being in a state of lowkey allergic reaction at all times. I've had cats my entire life and getting more allergic as time goes on doesn't make sense to me.
I try to keep track of little topics I think up to write about here on the blog. A couple real dazzlers from this week include:
Oblivion Horse Armor
"we need to be sending thank you cards" and
"when my hair smells like feathers." Your guess is as good as mine.
My roommate is going on a road trip at the end of this coming week, I'm hoping for some nice quiet coding and quilting time.
